Welcome back to The Mystic Muse! I would like to announce that I am writing my first fantasy novel. It is currently a WIP, but I will be working on it non-stop all summer long. Second announcement: In honor of this blog coming back, I'll be hosting a writing competition.

May Writing Competition Information:

Here is the prompt for the competition entries:

You were wrongly arrested and sent to the floating castle. Using your magical ability of turning invisible, how do you escape? Oh, the invisibility only works when you close your eyes.

To enter your story inspired by this prompt, make sure it meets the following requirements:

1. Your story is between 1,000 - 1,500 words. If it goes a little over, that's ok!

2. The prompt is followed in some way

Prize(s) for the winner:

a) Bragging rights

b) Your story will be featured on my blog

c) This prize will only be offered every 2 or 3 competitions. You get to choose one of the three options.(1 and only one. Not 2, or 3.)

1. You get to choose or create the prompt for the June competition. (Note: you don't get to enter but you get to help me judge the competitions and choose a winner)

2. You get a preview of what's coming up in a story I am writing of your choice.

3. You get one question about The Ocean's Heir of your choosing answered truthfully. Such as a question about the plot, something about a character, or something else I didn't think of.

Deadline for submission:

Must be submitted by May 14th-15th. Winner will be announced on Friday May 17th.
